Vinson & Elkins' Virtual Panel Discussion of CURED

Vinson & Elkins is pleased to host a panel discussion about the award-winning PBS documentary CURED.
At one point in our history, doctors classified homosexuality as a mental illness to be “cured” and employed cruel treatments like electroshock and lobotomies. LGBTQ+ activists and their allies fought back! — and won a momentous victory when the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its manual of mental disorders in 1973.
In honor of Pride Month, please join Vinson & Elkins on Monday, June 27, as we will host a virtual panel discussion about the film, CURED featuring the project’s co-directors, one of the trailblazing activists who shares her story in the documentary, and V&E Counsel Chris Bacon. V&E Senior Associate Mat Lopes Parente will provide opening remarks.
V&E is proud to partner with the producers of CURED to offer this event to our colleagues, clients, and alumni. We hope you’ll be able to join us to discuss this inspiring film!
