Back to the Future: Energy Policy in the Biden Administration

Courts and Election Mean the Future of EPA’s Methane Regulations for the Oil and Gas Industry is Still Up in the Air Background Decorative Image

President Joe Biden has indicated every intention to pursue a starkly different energy policy than the prior administration. Achieving the Biden administration’s energy agenda includes, among other things, curbing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector, cutting fossil fuel subsidies, and putting the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Achieving these goals will require sweeping changes to federal energy and environmental laws.
