2022 PLI "Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances" Conference
Vinson & Elkins partners Gary Huffman and Todd Way are speaking at PLI’s “Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances” conference. The first two days of the conference will present a logical and comprehensive study of the framework and many important intricacies of Subchapter K, while the last day will focus on timely advanced and specialized topics, such as the partnership audit rules and international joint venture issues, and the application of partnership taxation to specific industries, including oil and gas, hedge funds and private equity funds.
On May 9, Gary will speak on “Advanced Basis Issues: Impact of Liabilities.” This program will cover the complexities arising from Section 752 regulations as applied to recourse and nonrecourse debt, including the perils and opportunities they create, as well as recent regulations, transactions, and cases in which the Section 752 regulations feature prominently.
On May 11, Todd will serve as a co-speaker addressing “Public And Private Oil and Gas Partnerships.” This program will provide an introduction to oil and gas taxation and the use of subchapter K to solve tax issues in contractual oil and gas joint ventures and M&A.
