Christian Sheehan Senior Associate, Government Investigations & White Collar Criminal Defense

Christian’s principal area of practice is complex commercial litigation, with a focus on white collar civil and criminal litigation and appellate practice.

His experience includes representing government contractors in several significant False Claims Act actions and investigations and representing a variety of clients before federal appellate courts.  He has also served as lead counsel on several pro bono matters, including in an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and in removal proceedings in Immigration Court.  Christian currently serves on the Washington Recruiting Committee. Experience Highlights

False Claims Act

  • (C.D. Ill.) — Representing a government contractor in a qui tam action involving allegations of fraud in connection with the settlement of a foreign subcontractor’s requests for equitable adjustment
  • (E.D. Mich.) – Defending government contractor in False Claims Act case brought by government alleging violations of Truth in Negotiations Act for alleged failure to disclose current cost or pricing data and claiming damages of potentially $400 million
  • (C.D. Ill.) – Representing government contractor in False Claims Act case involving allegations of kickbacks in connection with subcontracts with foreign subcontractors 


  • (3d Cir.) Drafted briefs in appeal involving constitutional challenges to Delaware’s unclaimed property laws 
  • (D.C. Cir.) – Drafted amicus brief regarding False Claims Act first-to-file and public disclosure bars in support of defendant 
  • (1st Cir.) – Drafted amicus brief regarding materiality standard under False Claims Act in support of defendant 

Pro Bono

  • (3d Cir.) Drafted brief and presented oral argument in Section 1983 case involving questions about standard for appointment of counsel in civil cases 
  • (Immigration Ct.) – Successfully obtained withholding of removal status for Salvadoran client fleeing gang violence  (lead)
