V&E Shareholder Activism Team Receives Top Rankings in Latest League Tables by Refinitiv and The Deal for Company Representation
Vinson & Elkins’ Shareholder
Activism team has received No. 1 rankings for company representation as part of
Refinitiv’s First Half 2019 Shareholder Activism Scorecard and The
Deal’s Q3 2019 Shareholder Activism League Tables.
In an article accompanying its Q3
2019 League Tables, The Deal writes that “[a] handful of law firms advise
both corporations targeted by activist hedge funds and the insurgent investors
that specialize in M&A campaigns” and noted that “V&E maintain[ed] its
top ranking for number of activist-targeted corporations advised…” in 2018 and
2019. Refinitiv also ranked V&E No. 1 for company representation for the full
year ending June 30, 2019.
V&E’s Shareholder Activism team is led by
Lawrence Elbaum and Patrick Gadson in New York and Jeff Floyd and Steve Gill in
Houston. Comprising approximately 30 attorneys, the Shareholder Activism
team leverages the experience of the firm’s top-tier public company, M&A,
corporate governance and litigation practices, representing companies facing
the growing tide of shareholder activism. The team has been involved in
approximately 125 activist situations across all industries, including dozens
of proxy contests over the past five years.
