Benefits: Stephen Jacobson. Jacobson is an
experienced executive compensation attorney who advises public and private
companies, private equity firms and their portfolio companies on employment,
compensation, and benefits matters in business transactions.
In an interview with Law360, Jacobson described his proudest moments as an attorney as those spent mentoring younger attorneys at the firm. Seeing his mentees become clients' first points of contact for executive compensation matters and work on transactions with skills and confidence fills him with pride, he said.

Energy: Lande Spottswood. Spottswood is an
accomplished corporate lawyer who focuses her practice on large and complex
strategic transactions, often in the energy and industrial sectors. Her clients
include public and private companies, as well as private equity firms.
"I get the most positive reinforcement, the most professional satisfaction when I find that I have one of those relationships where a client that I respect is looking to me for legal advice, yes, but legal advice as it fits into a larger strategic picture," Spottswood told Law360 when asked about the part of her job she finds most rewarding.

Environmental: Margaret Peloso. Peloso’s areas of
practice are environmental law and climate change. With respect to climate
change, she handles a variety of matters, including advising on climate change
risk management and climate change adaptation issues. Peloso also works on a
variety of complex environmental litigation matters and deals extensively with
the notice and comment process on a wide range of federal environmental
When asked by Law360 what motivates her, Peloso said integrating scientific concepts into the legal context, though challenging, is some of the work she likes best. "I am very motivated by the idea of being able to do a lot to both help my clients and make a positive impact on the environment by being somebody who can help to use science to inform decision making, to use science to inform litigation strategy and help to get good quality information to those processes," she said.
