Activist Insight Monthly's 2017 Intermediary Awards Rank V&E #1 for Issuer Representation

Published: 12-13-2017

Vinson & Elkins’ Shareholder Activism Response Team has received the No. 1 ranking for issuer representation as part of Activist Insight Monthly’s 2017 Intermediary Awards. The firm is credited with advising on 29 campaigns.

Citing the firm’s involvement with EQT’s $8 billion acquisition of Rice Energy, which was opposed by activist investor Jana Partners, and Fiesta Restaurant Group’s “landslide win” in JCP Investment Management’s proxy contest, the December 2017 issue of Activist Insight Monthly describes V&E as “the busiest law firm representing companies subjected to activism for a second consecutive year.”

Activist Insight Monthly is the first monthly magazine dedicated to activist investing, designed to provide qualitative research and exclusive intel into the mindsets of professionals in the activist investing space. The publication derives its annual rankings from public announcements, proxy statements, regulatory filings and press releases, supplemented by law firm submissions.

V&E’s Shareholder Activism Response Team works with companies of all sizes and across all industries involved in proxy contests, withhold-the-vote campaigns, short attacks, hostile takeover attempts and other activist challenges. It is a fully integrated team of corporate lawyers and litigators, as well as compensation, employment, antitrust and other advisors with experience in activism and proxy fights.
