Sing a Song about the Heartland: Patent Litigation Post-Heartland
In one of the most anticipated decisions in recent years, the Supreme Court reversed the Federal Circuit’s venue precedent in TC Heartland and reaffirmed its own decades-old interpretation of the patent venue statue. This program looked at the consequences of that decision in the weeks following the Supreme Court’s decision, with a first look at case-filing patterns and statistics post-Heartland.
The program also examined how plaintiffs have responded to Heartland, with a look at where cases are being brought and the types of venue allegations being made. Finally, the program also examined how district courts have handled venue challenges post-Heartland.
