Charles F. Robinson began his tenure as General Counsel and Vice President for the University of California in 2007. As the University System’s Chief Legal Officer, Mr. Robinson provides advice to The Regents, the President and other senior officials, overseeing a legal staff of 80 attorneys who are responsible for ten campuses, five medical centers and one national laboratory, and managing outside counsel.
Before joining the University of California system, Mr. Robinson served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the California Independent System Operator Corporation, which is California’s wholesale electric transmission operator. Before he entered the public sector, he served as Assistant General Counsel for Packard Bell, Division Counsel for Raychem Corporation, and Partner at Heller Ehrman White and McAuliffe.
