Lawyers negotiate every day and negotiating
ethically and maintaining their reputations as ethical and professional is
critical to the successful practice of law. In this program, Martin
Latz will lead a discussion about a series of ethically challenging
legal negotiation scenarios and will link our discussion to critical
negotiation strategies. In this way, the participants will begin to more fully
appreciate the strategic principles of negotiation while also learning how to
effectively maintain their reputations as ethical negotiators.
Participants will learn: how to share strategic information in high-stakes
legal negotiations; what type of information lawyers must ethically and legally
share in various legal negotiation environments; and how to skillfully and
ethically play leverage cards.
