V&E will be taking part in the American Bar Association Antitrust Law 2019 Spring Meeting.
V&E Partner Darren Tucker will speak on a panel titled “Advocating Before the Agencies: White Paper & Meetings” at the ABA spring meeting session on Wednesday, March 27. This panel is presented by the Federal Civil Enforcement and Mergers & Acquisitions Committees. Panelists will explain why writing persuasive white papers and convincing government enforcers of a client's position requires a deep understanding of the enforcement process, and will share their strategies and experiences to explain how to advocate a client’s position effectively when it matters most – when an agency considers a challenge. 1:45 – 3:15 pm.

V&E Counsel Lindsey Vaala will moderate a panel titled “Antitrust Compliance: A Changing Landscape?” at the ABA spring meeting session on Wednesday, March 27. This panel is presented by the Cartel & Criminal Practice and Compliance and Ethics Committees. Panelists will discuss how dynamic compliance programs are expensive to design and implement effectively, yet serve a crucial function as the first line of defense in preventing, detecting, and remedying anticompetitive conduct. They will share best practices, tips, and tools and debate whether robust and well- executed programs should receive credit at sentencing. 1:45 – 3:15 pm.

V&E Partner Hill Wellford will speak on a panel titled “Trade Association Antitrust Compliance: Safety in Numbers?” at the ABA spring meeting session on Thursday, March 28. This panel is presented by the Compliance & Ethics and Trade, Sports & Professional Associations Committees. Panelists will discuss how to navigate challenges that arise when companies counsel trade and industry associations they have joined to stay abreast of the latest and greatest in their industries. 3:15 - 5:00 pm.
