Monday, September 12, 2016 | Washington, DC
V&E’s Washington, DC office hosted Jay
Newton-Small, Washington correspondent for TIME
and author of Broad Influence: How
Women are Changing the Way America Works, for a discussion and book signing
on September 12, 2016. On the centennial of the first woman elected to
congress, Broad Influence provides
insight on how women effectuate change and Jay makes the case for attaining gender
balance in the work force – and in C-suites, board rooms, the legal field, law
enforcement and the government. Eighty people attended the book talk and
reception, which comprised both men and women from a variety of industries and
included members from 100 Women in Hedge Funds, the
National Law Journal, and the DC Bar, among others.
Senior associate Lindsey Vaala, played an instrumental role in facilitating
the event, with advice from partner Anita Wilson, who lead the DC office’s Women Initiative.
