V&E Participates in 2017 SEC Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation
Top SEC officials gathered on November 30th for the 2017 Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation. The annual Forum, which is typically held in Washington D.C., took place in Austin this year in partnership with the Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship, Growth and Renewal at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. SEC Chairman Jay
Clayton, SEC Commissioners Kara Stein and Michael Piwowar and SEC Division of
Corporation Finance Director William H. Hinman all attended and gave opening
remarks regarding the need to support the growth efforts of small businesses.

Attendees then split
into two breakout groups to draft suggestions for the SEC regarding exempt
securities offerings and smaller registered and Regulation A securities
offerings. A final report for the 2017 Forum that includes the attendees’
recommendations for the SEC and transcripts of the Commissioners’ remarks can
