The Clock Starts on New Compliance Requirements for Methane Emissions

On June 3, 2016, EPA published New Source Performance Standards for methane and volatile organic compound emissions from the oil and natural gas industry in the Federal Register. The rule will take effect on August 2, 2016, and the first leak detection surveys must be completed by the latter of June 3, 2017, or 60 days after startup.
