July 15, 2010 — To mark its special 25th anniversary issue, Texas Lawyer requested nominations for the greatest Texas lawyers of the past quarter-century who have made outstanding contributions within the 25 years the newspaper has been published. The final list of lawyers was selected out of more than 475 nominations.

V&E is honored to have two partners named to this prestigious list: Litigation partner Harry Reasoner in our Houston office and M&A partner Mike Wortley in our Dallas office.

The publication highlights Harry Reasoner's illustrious career, full of high-profile appellate and trial court cases, which includes defending clients such as The Dallas Morning News and CBS, Inc. Texas Lawyer touts Harry as having "had an extraordinary influence on Texas law and the business of law," noting Harry's dedication to pro bono work and time as Managing Partner, from 1992 - 2001, during which he helped expand V&E's practice both nationally and internationally.

According to Texas Lawyer, Mike Wortley "made a name in Texas through a long history of representing major clients in big-ticket deals, and he burnished that reputation with an equally large corporate governance practice consisting of behind-the-scenes work for corporate boards." Mike's corporate and M&A practice boasts representing clients such as the private equity firm HM Capital, Trammell Crow & Co., and Dell, Inc. The publication also highlights Mike's accomplishments as V&E's first ever Chief Operating Partner, including managing cost-cutting efforts allowing the firm to reduce expenses greatly.
