Vinson & Elkins Counsel Beto Cardenas Honored with an Outstanding Young Texans Award
September 13, 2010 — Vinson & Elkins Counsel Alberto (Beto) Cardenas, Jr., was recognized as one of “Five Outstanding Young Texans” for 2010 by the Texas Jaycees. The FOYT program annually honors five outstanding people between 18 and 41 years of age who “exemplify the best attributes of the nation’s young people.” The awards ceremony, sponsored by the Texas Junior Chamber & Austin Junior Chamber, dramatizes each winner's career in a narrative form and provides a stage for the honorees to challenge and inspire America's youth. Attendees at this year’s ceremony in Austin included Jaycees members, the award winners, their family and friends, and civic officials. Past FOYT Honorees include: Howard E. Butts, Joel Osteen, Dan Rather, Sam Wyly, and Jeana Yeager.
