Wednesday, September 29 - Friday, October 1, 2010 | Chantilly, VA
Newspaper Association of America, National Association of Broadcasters, and the Media Law Resource Center will co-sponsor the 2010 Media Law Conference, “The New Decade: Challenges to the Legacy Paradigm,” focusing on defamation, privacy, related editorial tort, newsgathering, and intellectual property issues. The conference is designed and prepared for attorneys who, in media matters, represent defendants exclusively. The interactive format encourages the most frank and useful discussion possible among facilitators, panelists, and participants.
V&E partner Tom Leatherbury is Chair of the event and was on the Conference Planning Committee. He and other Chairs will make introductions and announcements on Thursday morning. V&E associate Marc Fuller will facilitate a breakout session, "Privacy, Publicity, and Use and Protection of Data," on Friday, October 1.
Conference sponsors are unable to make advance arrangements with every state CLE agency. The conference will apply for CLE course approval from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Some state bar jurisdictions will provide CLE credits on a reciprocal basis. It is the responsibility of attendees seeking CLE credit to contact their bar jurisdiction CLE agencies. Conference sponsors will provide attendees with a Virginia form certificate of attendance. Attendees seeking CLE credit from other jurisdictions should include this form with their CLE credit application materials to their bar CLE agencies.
