The challenges facing decision makers only intensify during times of economic turbulence. Vinson & Elkins’ Employment, Labor and OSHA practice group, with nationally recognized lawyers, has been advising clients across the globe through economic highs and lows for more than 40 years.
From complex class action employment cases to advising on individual labor issues, V&E provides comprehensive advice and counseling in employment and labor law. Informed and enforced by our lawyers' extensive trial experience defending employers and senior executives, we work with clients to help resolve disputed matters in ways that are successful, efficient, and economical, while preserving the goals and rights of our clients.
Our seasoned trial lawyers have substantial experience in jury and bench trials in the federal and state courts when litigation is necessary. We have have extensive experience and relationships with administrative agencies including OSHA and MSHA. In arbitrations, we have enforced arbitration agreements and tried cases under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and collective bargaining agreements.
We also work closely with other practice groups in our global network of offices to provide clients a diverse array of cost-effective legal services. We work routinely with lawyers specializing in business transactions, employee and executive benefits, energy services, intellectual property, and tax compliance in order to develop solutions to legal issues that require a multi-discipline approach.

Client Seminars
Our lawyers regularly conduct seminars on a number of employment- and labor-related issues, including litigation prevention, compliance with leave laws such as the Family Medical Leave Act, compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act regulations, safety and health practices, and recent developments in case law, regulation, and legislation.
Manager Training
To educate our clients with employee and compliance issues, we provide training to supervisors, managers, and in-house trainers on numerous employment-related issues including investigations claims, the discipline process, and record keeping.
