Biography
Tracey's practice is devoted to helping clients fully leverage their intellectual property assets, to maximize the value of their products and companies, and facilitate their expansion into new markets. Tracey counsels clients regarding strategic patent portfolio development and management; licensing and forming strategic partnerships; rendering freedom to operate opinions; Hatch-Waxman and branded versus generic pharmaceutical matters; and other transactions that optimize intellectual property value to the client. Tracey also represents clients in patent and related litigation. Tracey's primary focus is with life science and biotechnology, where she takes a lead role in the firm's practice; she also has experience with nanotechnology, computer software, and mechanical devices. She advises clients in areas such as transgenic plants and animals, pharmaceutical formulation and drug delivery, stem cells, homologous recombination, protein therapies, tissue engineering, gene discovery, coated nanoparticles, and software programs for health care delivery, telemedicine and virtual machine technology. Her scientific experience is in toxicology research, where she has studied the role of aldehyde dehydrogenases in fetal metabolism and the toxic effects of pesticides.
