Biography
Shadow’s practice focuses mainly on employment litigation and arbitration of employment claims. She represents employers in matters involving claims of race, sex, religious, national origin, age, and disability discrimination; sexual harassment; and retaliation arising under federal and state statutes, as well as common law claims of wrongful discharge; defamation; intentional infliction of emotional distress; and invasion of privacy. Her practice also includes denial of benefits and breach of fiduciary duty claims arising under ERISA, breach of contract claims involving severance payments, incentive compensation and stock options, and whistle-blower causes of action. Shadow represents employers in arbitration, in state and federal court, and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, and the Texas Workforce Commission, Civil Rights Division. Her clients have included those in the insurance, construction, engineering, oil and gas, health care, retail, and computer industries.

- Tried and won over 125 employment arbitration cases around the country, including one with 30 claimants, for a Houston-based construction, engineering, and oil and gas services company
- Won a jury trial in a multiple plaintiff age discrimination case in federal court in Houston on behalf of a California-based industrial manufacturing company
- Served as Texas counsel for a major retail store with headquarters in New York and obtained summary judgments in an age discrimination case involving a 73-year-old plaintiff in federal court in Houston; in a race discrimination case in state court in San Antonio, and in a race and gender discrimination and retaliation case in federal court in Ft. Worth
