Nikolay's principal area of practice is litigation with an emphasis on commercial disputes and securities litigation and enforcement.

Representative Experience
Securities Litigation and Enforcement
- Assisting in the representation of a private equity firm and its principals in federal securities fraud class action alleging controlling person liability claims under the Securities Act and the Exchange Act
- Lead associate in the representation of a broker-dealer and two of its officers in lawsuits commenced by the SEC, the SIPC Trustee, and private investors arising from the Madoff Ponzi scheme
- Assisted in the representation of a firm in federal securities fraud class action related to restatement of financial statements based on firm’s revision of oil and gas reserves
Commercial and Business Litigation
- Assisting in the representation of an international garment manufacturer in a state court action for breach of contract and fraud related to an investment in Tajikistan
Bankruptcy Litigation
Lead associate in the representation of a private equity firm in bankruptcy of a portfolio company, including in connection with Bankruptcy Court-appointed Examiner’s investigation and fraudulent transfer claims brought by a Litigation Trustee Assisted in the representation of a distressed debt/high yield units of financial institutions and hedge funds in connection with evaluation of litigation risks associated with investments
