Biography
Mike's practice covers a wide range of real estate finance matters. His experience includes construction and permanent lending on commercial real estate; joint ventures and other equity participations involving the formation and negotiation of limited partnerships and limited liability companies; participating mortgages; real estate workouts; ranch acquisitions and operations; oil & gas leasing; and Islamic finance. Mike has also handled financing for the acquisition and development of commercial real estate portfolios, with direct security in real estate and mortgage loans. Mike currently serves as V&E's Real Estate Practice Group Leader.

- Represented private equity fund in its acquisition of a public real estate investment trust with assets of $1.7 billion, termination of real estate investment trust status and conversion of corporate subsidiaries to pass-through entities
- Represented a private equity fund in negotiating mezzanine and senior mortgage financing for leveraged acquisition of a publicly traded real estate investment trust
- Represented a major credit card corporation in over 100 investments in real estate partnerships and limited liability companies for acquisition and development of commercial real estate
