Biography
Mark is a partner based in the firm’s London office and is a member of the firm’s worldwide Finance practice group.
Mark has extensive experience in the energy sector, as well as wide experience in transportation infrastructure and telecoms, advising on transactions based in Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has acted for developers, operators, multi-lateral agencies, commercial banks, and other financial institutions, on the development, financing, and disposition of projects and assets. Mark has particular experience in the climate change sector, including renewables, carbon capture and storage and emissions reductions and trading. Mark also advises on private equity investments in European real estate loans, including distressed debt acquisitions and disposals and loan restructuring.

Financing View All
- Advised the project sponsors on the financing of a hydrogen-fired power project in Abu Dhabi
- Advised an oil and gas company on its borrowing facilities secured over assets in the UK North Sea and North America
- Advised the mandated lead arrangers on the €550 million financing of the concession for the Larnaka and Pafos airports in Cyprus: airport finance deal of the year 2006

- Advised a private equity sponsor on the development and financing of an onshore wind farm in Sweden
- Advising the sponsor on the development and financing of gas processing and pipeline facilities for gas fields in Nigeria
- Advised a large national oil company on the development of an LNG liquefaction project in the Middle East
Mergers and Acquisitions View All
- Advised a large Chinese energy company on its US$7.1 billion investment in a South American oil and gas business
- Advised a private equity fund on the acquisition and financing of several portfolios of commercial real estate loans and mortgage-backed securities
- Advised financial investors on the acquisition of a majority interest in a large UK wind farm portfolio
Commercial and Regulatory View All
- Advised a train operating company on the restructuring of its long-term leasing arrangements for its locomotive rolling-stock
- Advised the seller on management and earn-out arrangements for the sale of power and mining assets located in Central Asia
- Advised on a long-term tolling contract for uranium compounds for a UK nuclear reprocessing facility
Climate Change View All
- Advised an international airline regarding compliance with the EU Emission Trading Scheme for the aviation sector
- Advised a wind farm developer on multiple project supply agreements with large wind turbine manufacturer and on proposals for a turbine pre-delivery financing
- Advised a European utility on the joint venture arrangements for a very large offshore wind farm project
