Biography
Kristie's main area of practice is administrative and environmental law. Her primary focus is on environmental issues affecting project development and business transactions, environmental issues affecting land use, and environmental and toxic tort litigation.

  • Advised clients on environmental, land use, and permitting issues for numerous LNG terminal projects
  • Advised client on environmental permitting and review requirements for offshore LNG terminal under the Deepwater Port Act and related onshore construction facilities
  • Performed environmental due diligence reviews for numerous business transactions and advised clients on environmental provisions in transaction agreements
Environmental Litigation

  • Successfully represented port authority in the defense of NEPA and Clean Water Act litigation concerning the development of a large container terminal facility, including prevailing in state and federal court at the trial and appellate levels
  • Obtained summary judgment on all claims for a manufacturing company in a real estate fraud case based on allegations of failure to disclose alleged environmental contamination and successfully defended summary judgment on appeal to the Fifth Circuit
  • Represents an oil and gas company in multi-plaintiff toxic tort suits involving property damage and personal injury claims arising out of natural gas pipeline operations in the Rio Grande Valley
