Biography
Katy’s practice involves energy infrastructure investment, project development and project finance transactions. Katy has represented investors, sponsors and lenders in complex domestic and international transactions with a focus on power transmission and generation, including wind, solar and geothermal renewable energy, and midstream natural gas, including gas storage and gas gathering facilities.

- Represented an energy and infrastructure fund in connection with the construction financing of a 283 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant near Toronto, Ontario
- Represented a sponsor in the development of a geothermal power generation facility in Kenya, including the negotiation of the renewable energy PPA
- Represented a sponsor in connection with the project financing and development of an irrigated sugar cane ethanol facility in Peru, including the negotiation of multiple EPC contracts, the port facilities BOOT arrangement and agricultural technical and consulting agreement – Project Finance, Latin American Biofuels Deal of the Year, 2010

- Represented an infrastructure fund in connection with its investment in the Ruby Pipeline (a 675-mile natural gas pipeline that will supply Rockies natural gas to the western U.S. markets)
- Represented a private equity firm in the acquisition of a significant portfolio of wind power development projects located in North America
- Represented a major investor owned electric utility in connection with the sale of its Virginia electric distribution business to two electric cooperatives, which included the transfer of more than 100,000 customers
