Biography
John B.'s practice involves the representation of clients in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance transactions, private equity investments, joint ventures, and a variety of energy matters. He has worked on transactions in more than 20 states in the United States and more than 25 countries throughout the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Mergers and Acquisitions View All
- Represented an international energy company in the acquisition of $1.7 billion of oil and gas properties offshore Brazil and in the Gulf of Mexico
- Represented a U.S. oil company in the > $2.5 billion auction and sale of oil and gas interests and processing facilities in five West African countries
- Represented a U.S. company in the auction and sale of power generation assets in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic
Project Development, Finance and Joint Venture View All
- Represented an international energy company in a $3.25 billion acquisition and joint venture drilling program in the Marcellus Shale
- Represented a U.S. oil company in the acquisition of $1 billion of oil and gas properties in the Permian Basin in a transaction involving a volumetric production payment and a partnership structure
- Represented a major U.S. financial institution in connection with its acquisition of 50% of a physical gas trading and storage business
Private Equity View All
- Represented a private equity fund in its acquisition of a U.S. wind energy portfolio
- Represented a private equity/hedge fund in connection with its secured financing of a jack-up drilling rig under construction
- Represented a private equity firm in connection with its over $100 million investment in U.S. domestic oil and gas properties
