Biography
Rell's principal areas of practice are energy transactions, mergers and acquisitions and project development. His law practice covers transactions involving the acquisition, disposition and merger of companies, properties and assets in the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the oil and gas industry; project development of midstream facilities including gas treating and processing plants and interstate and intrastate natural gas and carbon dioxide pipeline systems; long-term off take agreements for power, refined products and carbon dioxide; creation of production payments, net profit interests and other overriding royalty interests in exploratory, development and producing oil and gas properties located in the U.S. and other countries; acquisition and disposition of portfolios consisting of natural gas and power derivative contracts, energy management agreements, tolling agreements and marketing and transportation agreements; joint ventures and partnerships; and other general corporate and business transactions. Rell's clients include major energy companies, private equity companies, energy providers, and financial institutions.

Rell has served on the firm’s Management Committee and is the former Energy Transactions/Projects Practice Group Leader.
