Biography
David's principal areas of practice are business law, international business transactions, cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures as well as corporate and project finance and oil and gas. He is a member of the firm's Energy Transactions and Projects Group, Project Finance and Development Group and the China Practice Group. David is Chief Representative of the firm's Shanghai office.

- Represented Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation in connection with its C$10.3 billion acquisition of Addax Petroleum Corporation, a Canadian company publicly traded on the Toronto and London Stock Exchanges, with assets in West Africa and the Middle East
- Represented a consortium of Chinese oil companies in connection with the $1.42 billion acquisition of oil and pipeline interests in Ecuador, including net proved reserves of approximately 143 million barrels and a 36% stake in a 500 kilometer export pipeline with transport capacity of 450,000 barrel per day
- Represented an internationally-owned project company in the negotiation of operating agreements for $1.2 billion heavy crude oil pipeline and marine terminal in Ecuador
