  • Counsel to lead petitioner group in DC Circuit challenges and Supreme Court petitions to EPA initiative to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under the CAA
  • Advising client on litigation and expert witness strategy related to one of the Nation’s largest Superfund sediment sites 
  • Advise client on the potential impacts of proposed existing source performance standards, including the potential energy efficiency or emissions reductions measures that may be required in state implementation plans, on client’s assets across the United States 
  • Counsel for Texas’ largest transmission and distribution utility in connection with a Texas competitive renewable energy zone (CREZ) transmission project to construct billions of dollars in new transmission lines to interconnect renewable resources
  • Represented Duke Energy Company in a 50/50 joint venture with Sumitomo Corporation for the development, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of Duke Energy’s 131 MW Cimarron II Wind Energy Project and 168 MW Ironwood Wind Energy Project, both located in Kansas
  • Duke Energy in connection with the development of a 36 MW battery storage facility located at the Notrees Wind Farm in Texas, the largest battery storage system of its kind, including the negotiation of new energy storage services agreements and a repowering project for the Notrees Energy Storage Project
  • Provided legal advice to a national trade association in connection with waiver provisions under the RFS
  • Represented a major oil and gas producer and interstate pipeline company on a broad range of legal matters relating to its ongoing development of a CO2 pipeline network that will transport CO2 from anthropogenic sources to sequestration sites, including sites where injected CO2 will be used for enhanced oil recovery
  • Representing a solar gasification-based renewable energy company in the ongoing development of a commercial scale biorefinery utilizing concentrating solar power, biomass, and natural gas for the production of liquid “drop in” transportation fuels
  • Represented an advanced lithium ion battery manufacturer in the structure and documentation of a joint venture for its proposed facility in China
