Vinson & Elkins Advises on Buckeye Partners' US$1 Billion Merger Agreement
June 18, 2010 — Vinson & Elkins represented the audit committee of Buckeye Partners, L.P. (BPL), owner and operator one of the largest independent refined petroleum products pipeline systems in the United States, in the US$1 billion merger deal resulting in BPL owning its general partner, Buckeye GP Holdings L.P. Because of the potential conflicts of interest in the transaction, Buckeye's audit committee was delegated full authority to negotiate the transaction for Buckeye. The terms of the merger agreement were unanimously approved by the committee. Read the company's full press release here.
