Marie Yeates is one of the country’s leading appellate lawyers. Over the course of a nearly four-decade-long career at V&E, Marie has presented more than 130 appellate oral arguments in federal and state appellate courts across the country. By developing strategy early, preparing cases meticulously, and negotiating firmly, he and his team have frequently resolved their clients’ IRS audits and appeals on a cost-effective basis, avoiding court proceedings altogether.

David is one of the country’s leading public company lawyers, have worked with over one hundred NYSE and NASDAQ listed issuers over the last 30 years. The long term growth of the US midstream and infrastructure industry beginning in the 1990s followed by the explosive growth accompanying the shale revolution in the late 2000s combined to make David one of the most successful public company lawyers practicing in the US today. This experience has lead to more recent engagements for emerging LNG and transition energy issuers. Doug Bland works with the development, purchase and sale of energy-related projects and assets. For more than 35 years, he has represented private equity firms and large and small companies in the upstream, midstream, downstream and renewable energy sectors in a variety of transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, as well as project financing for everything from pipelines to power plants. In the midstream sector, Doug structures transactions involving refining and petrochemicals; natural gas gathering, processing, storage and transportation; and oil and condensate transportation, storage and terminalling. He works in the upstream space facilitating large shale development joint ventures, and acquisitions and sales of oil and gas properties. Jim is a trial attorney with more than 35 years of experience counseling clients with wide-ranging business litigation needs. His practice encompasses lawsuits, appeals, and domestic and international arbitrations across multiple industries.

Sarah leads the Firm’s transactional insurance practice and counsels clients on insurance matters in complex corporate transactions. Fry Wernick is a Chambers-rated lawyer and former federal prosecutor who serves as a partner in the Government Investigations and White Collar Practice Group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. and Dallas offices. George’s practice involves representing debtors, creditors (including syndicated bank groups and agents), equity holders, and distressed investors in all aspects of complex corporate restructurings including chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, and special situation investments and acquisitions.
