Ellyn is V&E’s Pro Bono Counsel – the first in that role in a Texas law firm. Ellyn has spent 15 years as a professional do-gooder, representing the interests of those in poverty and the organizations that help them. Her career in public interest law began in 2002, as the Domestic Violence Staff Attorney at South Texas College of Law Legal Clinic, and continued at V&E in 2008. Ellyn, with the guidance of an active Pro Bono Committee and Committee Chair Harry Reasoner, oversees the pro bono work of V&E lawyers. She sees her role as a true matchmaker – partnering the legal needs in our communities with the lawyers who are ready, willing, and able to meet that need. Pro Bono work has been a passion and privilege of V&E lawyers since its inception in 1917 and is integral to who we are as a firm.
