EPA Initiatives: Agency Puts Oil & Gas In Crosshairs

V&E counsel Andrew Stewart and V&E senior associate Jay Rothrock recently authored an article on EPA’s recent National Enforcement Initiatives (NEIs) for 2017-2019, giving an overview of NEIs relevant to the oil and gas industry. EPA introduced new initiatives and renewed or expanded existing initiatives, addressing energy extraction and production, methane emissions reductions, well activity on land administered by the Bureau of Land Management, cuts to hazardous air pollutants as a byproduct of operations, and the reduction of risks of accidental releases at industrial and chemical facilities.
