On May 7 at 2:00 p.m., Gary is presenting on the panel, Basis Issues Including Allocation of Liabilities. This session will focus on the calculation of a partner’s basis in its interest (“outside basis”), including the impact of liabilities on a partner’s outside basis. After completing this session, participants will be able to calculate outside basis attributable to equity and liabilities, apply the regulations under Section 752 (relating to both recourse and nonrecourse liabilities), and identify the planning opportunities and pitfalls created by the Section 752 regulations.

On May 9 at 2:00 p.m., Ryan is speaking on the Public and Private Oil & Gas Partnerships panel.  This session will address the rules and concepts governing oil and gas transactions. After completing this session, participants will be able to use Subchapter K to solve tax issues in contractual oil and gas joint ventures, plan around the fractional interest rule, and identify the benefits of master limited partnerships (“MLPs”) in the oil and gas context.
